sloooow
Wednesday, January 18, 2012I am knitting, I promise. However, this hat has put me in a bit of a funk. The yarn is yummy but wearing thin cause row 15 has been knit and reknit a few too many times. Oy. I finally got smart and put markers in between every 24 st pattern repeat. Hoping that will help out my brain.
Charlie reminded me that I used to make a lot more cookies.
Okay then.
We highly recommend them.
Now back to my hat.

hi you! thanks for the cookie recipe link. xo.
ReplyDeletehellooooo! Thanks for the link to the cookies. I've tried to knit a few cabled hats this winter and was NOT successful!
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look divine! I'll definitely have to try them out!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering because of those cookies! I need to make some very soon!
ReplyDeletethat hat will be gorgeous when done, but i BET it's slow going on size 4 needles!

ReplyDeleteYum! Cookies!
ReplyDeleteI love the hat. I've made about 20 this winter, but only because they were small-child sized, mostly with bulky yarn. It's been a fun thing to do. I tried a couple of cable patterns of my own, which resulted in some cool texture, but slightly odd patterns...
Thank goodness it was for a 4yo who lives for bright colors and crazy patterns! I finally started one on a size 5 needle, with a sport-weight yarn. Yay for pretty, lacy hats!
Bake that boy more cookies! He'll grow way too fast!
The hat is a beautiful pattern. I bet it will be really warm once it's finished ...
ReplyDeleteMy sons and I made several different cookies from your list in the last month and they were all so delicious and easy to make. Thank you for sharing another recipe.
Oh, your knitting is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE cables, but. Too hard in a car, or while watching TV, or a hockey game... I think I'll have to save them for those days when I'm not chauffering - I mean, parenting, so... intensely. Love lemon - can't wait to try the cookies!
ReplyDeleteYummy yarn and cookies. I haven't purchased cookies in awhile and the ones I made just last week have been gobbled up with a few blinks of the eye. Now my children are walking around looking in cupboards and asking for more. These would fit the bill nicely. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis hat will be so nice! My mouth is watering too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great cookie recipe, thank you. Lots of lemons here in California right now, so will make them this weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose cookies sound delicious! I have been craving homemade baked goods as of late but I have been battling laziness as well :)
ReplyDeleteThat hat is gorgeous. I've added it to my queue. I'm in the luvinthemommyhood's Warm Up Winter KAL and that hat will be a great knit for that.
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look great. I made some Lemon Snowdrops cookies today that I stumbled across from Pinterest.

They were delicious and so easy. You should give them a try and the other recipe that led me to these are great too. California Dreamin' Cookies. Just a couple more ideas for your cookie repertoire.

nice one on the cookie front mate! We are on summer holidays and my starving little cuties are eating me outta the house and this mama is getting a little bored making the same ole same ole!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy knitting cables but I haven't learned to knit them without a cable needle yet. I hope the hat pattern works out for you.
ReplyDeleteIt's becoming a very nice hat though, I like it so far. :) And YUMMMM those cookies
ReplyDeleteYour hat is beautiful. The cookies look tasty. Had the hide the page from the hubs as I read it.I didn't want him to get any ideas.
ReplyDeleteI had a scarf that every time I got to row 17 I had to start over. It's in the stash box now. Thanks for the recipe I love sugar cookies.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hat. I hate when something that should be easy gets me. Good plan to use markers. Oy. I will be making these cookies today for our time at the park. I do always appreciate your weekly or whenever cookie recipes.
ReplyDeleteOOO, know what you mean! I had started a lace ribbon scarf back in the fall and tried to finish it before Thanksgiving. Somewhere along the line (never figured out where) I had messed up and I ripped back about 7 or 8 times. I picked it up several times, and every time, it kept getting off. I finally threw it in my bag to "cool off" from it. I took it out after the holidays and went back 2 rows and sailed along just perfectly!!! It is now finished! GOSH! REALLY!?
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear you are back at your knitting! ~Jan
Hello, friend! So happy to see your knitting and your cookies today.
ReplyDeleteyeah for knitting! thanks for sharing the recipe~
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that with your talent, sometimes you make mistakes too :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked the cookies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous cabled hat pattern! It will look very sharp in the charcol gray. Markers are a knitter's best friend :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Love slow knitting - sometimes that's best. The cookies look delicious and I love the tower of cookies photograph. Mmmm. Thanks for the link to the recipe.
ReplyDeleteYour knitting may be a pain but it is looking fab - as do those cookies. Have a lovely weekend. x
ReplyDeleteI am currently knitting that same hat - and it has been a bear for me, too! Luckily it is beautiful and the yarn soft or I'd have tossed it all to the side already!
ReplyDeletemy knitting is going this way too, on the needles, off the needles, count, recount. oh dear.
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look delicious, Leslie! I also love the yarn you're using for your new hat. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteboth your projects look delicious...I really need to pick up my needles and get stitching! Enjoy your days!
ReplyDeleteLovely hat, I hope by now that is has stopped giving you so much trouble. :) Thank you for the cookie link!
ReplyDeleteLeft you a message on ravelry. For your hat compare the written directions to the chart. One might not match the other.
ReplyDeleteOh I always love seeing your cookie recipes (nearly as much as the knitting!) Thanks for sharing - might have to try this one!
ReplyDeleteLemon cookies have already been made TWICE in the household. Simple and really yummy!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll be hiding some in the freezer to grab when we have some unexpected guests (or to hide from my adult son who LOVES them and will polish off a whole batch very quickly).
Oh, so delicious.
