real. simple. happiness.
Wednesday, December 21, 2011I've thought about getting over to this space all month.
I have also thought about knitting.
And, about your knitting. And, how busy a lot of YOU are knitting!
L O V E that!
I, on the other hand, have knit about 2 rows in the last several weeks. I know, I know. Shocking. I have a pretty good reason.
The chalkboard place mats were included in Real Simple's 50 gifts under $50 and I have been beautifully swamped. I feel extremely humbled and blessed.
I don't take for granted all of you. My entire reason I started that little business in the first place. You gave me the motivation and the inspiration. Truly, I couldn't be more grateful.
(This double rainbow showed up today. It was a lovely gift.)
I plan on getting my knitting back on. Very, very soon. I dream of all of it. Sweaters, shawls, hats, mittens and socks.
Real.
Simple.
Happiness.
My wish to you is the same. Real, Simple happiness...
the merriest of Christmas's and the happiest of holidays!
xx,
leslie

ReplyDeleteHi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI hope you get back to your knitting.....I really feel for you not knitting. I can't cope either. Where I live it is about 38 C, but do you think I can put my knitting needles down? Not a chance. Have a lovely Christmas. Regards, Anita.
I had a sneaky suspicion you were being buried in placemat orders :)
ReplyDeleteHave been dying to ask: how's it going?? have you been able to take a breath at ALL this month? And I had a feeling that the knitting might have to be taking a back seat (the horror!)

Oh! Great news! Good for you you finished the Aidez before you were featured in Real Simple!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays and merry christmas to you and your family!
Real Simple?!! Yahoo! I'm so excited for you, Leslie! Thank you for your space here and for sharing your rainbows, headless knitting photos and cookies. I made your chocolate chip cookies last week (again) and loved watching people reach for another and another and another. One dad took a bite, made eye contact with another dad, and mouthed, "These are GOOD!" I just smiled and thanked you from afar.
ReplyDeleteBravo to you! May I also thank you once again for the pattern for Those Mitts. I made a pair for my Secret Santa gift, and they were very much admired. Now everyone at my workplace hopes that I draw their name next year.

Merry Christmas to you and your whole family. Enjoy every minute! ~ Jan
Sorry to post twice, but wanted to add this about the double rainbow. The last time we saw a double rainbow was after the horrible tornadoes that so devastated our area April 27th. We were standing on top of a mountain at our friend's farm. He had lost EVERYTHING, even the 2 neighbors across the road. He had hand built his amazing house and lost close to $100,000 worth of furniture he had just finished up in his workshop (all gone). We were in the process of raking through all the rubble when the double rainbow appeared in the sky. It seemed to give us the message from God~I am still here and I love you!!! What a welcome sight as we were so despairing, hot, dirty, tired, etc... ~Jan

ReplyDeletewow, this blog is truly moving, inspirational and motivating...you CAN make it a great day and a great life by just being good and choosing to be nice and grateful and by not wanting more but by being contented and appreciative for what you do have and what does come your way...

Merry Christmas, Leslie, to you and your family. So excited for you and your business! Congrats! I hope you can find some time to knit soon! I, too, have had very little knitting time lately, and can't wait to get back to it! Enjoy the next week with your family. Happy 2012! xo
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea about the Real Simple bit! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteWe had Christmas with my extended family included my nieces that the place-mats were for this morning. BIG HIT! My sister said they will help so much to settle the girls as she is getting dinner put on the table. She also wanted to know where we got them so she could place orders for her nieces and nephews for birthdays and Christmases in the future. Thank you so much for an amazing product (a true tabula rasa!) that enhances the imagination, challenges the mind and fits into family routines so beautifully!
Merry Christmas to you and all the family.
