aidez
Thursday, November 10, 2011It took me a while to put this sweater together. It also took me a while to get photos. I can only blame that on daylight savings time and the color. The color of the yarn.
While I love everything about this sweater, I have one regret that I didn't make it in the natural color. Something about those cables... look so good in natural.
Pattern: Aidez
Yarn: Berroco peruvia quick, 9 hanks 9165 indigo.
Needles: 10.5 US
Size: Small
I do love it. It is a pretty quick knit resulting in a sweater that can be thrown on just about all of the time. I really like the long lines and drape. Soooo many people have made this telling you the balance of this project totally works. Easy yet challenging. Chunky yarn that makes it quick yet requires a bit of brain power to slow you down.
Thanks Berroco, for yet another wonderful pattern.

Absolutely gorgeous!! Congratulations on lovely work.
ReplyDeleteI think it's amazing in navy. But I'm partial to navy. Nice work, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteI looks lovely on you. I had to chuckle though, because all I could think of was the rude commenter mentioning your headless shots. Nice job, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteBut it is beautiful in blue too!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater. I am becoming a huge fan of cables.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very good, a job well done! And it looks very good on you. I like the blue with the jeans, I think the cables do stand out very beautiful in blue.
ReplyDeleteAs I was one of those many to suggest Aidez, I am certainly happy you like it. I love this sweater and would make another if I didn't have a ton of other knitting I'd like to do!
ReplyDeleteI made mine in a natural shade, but I love your navy.
it's beautiful, leslie! i like the blue quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteAnother one of your cozy, lovely knits, Leslie!
ReplyDeleteAhhh! Beautiful. I am working on my last sleeve now! Yay. Similar color to your blue, which I love your color selection, but I am concerned about size. Yours looks great. I am making the M and am hoping it won't be too big/ long. Hmmm. So pretty!

Wow. It's Gorgeous. I love the back!
ReplyDeleteThis is really, really beautiful, BUT... you can always make another in natural if you desire! :)~Jan
ReplyDeleteLove it! I have some dark blue waiting for this pattern as well... I have to get on it!
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is GORGEOUS!!!! Oh wow I really like the blue too. It looks fantastic! You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteOk just followed the link and can I tell you I like yours so much better?? It fits you better and much more flattering on you than the model they show on line. I may need to do this one....
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love the color blue. Those cables are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThis is stuning!
ReplyDeletei understand what you mean about cables popping in a natural color yarn - but i think this looks great indigo. it will be a super handy sweater to have and throw on.
ReplyDeleteso i'm glad you made it in this color. but ouch on the dark yarn and winter light for knitting.
I don't know...that blue is pretty beautiful! What a gorgeous sweater!
ReplyDeleteOh, I think this sweater looks lovely in this color! And, it does look nicer of you. I'd love to have one and have moved it to the top of my queue (first time I moved anything around my queue).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Great job!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, as usual! I love your color choice. I made mine in a wine color, and I love it, but I do have enough skeins of navy that I'm seriously considering making it again. But next time, I might use a smaller needle size--the first one I used US11 and made the small, and it's a little big.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, it's just perfect. I have to agree with another commenter who thought yours looked better than the pattern model - yours is a great fit! And I know the navy wasn't your first choice, but it looks smashing on you. The cables DO pop. Love it!!!!! Happy new fall sweater!
ReplyDeleteYour sweater looks fantastic!! I have had this on my list and now seeing yours wants me to go out now and get the yarn. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very nice! I think it's a great color choice. What a popular pattern!
ReplyDeleteLeslie, you are a friend to give us a view of this lovely cardigan, and the info so that we might attempt one of our own.
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about it's having just that perfect blend of enough detail to keep it interesting to knit, yet enough simplicity and a gauge that will guarantee speedy results.
The color you've chosen to use is a good one. I like doing Aran inspired patterns in colors, even some surprising colors.
Bravo!
Another lovely sweater, just beautiful! I love your blog, such pretty pictures.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh that is so gorgeous! i really love the color on you. it is a fabulous knit.
ReplyDeleteit's in my queue now too because of you (i hope mine turns out half as nice).
Your sweater is LOVELY!! the color is beautiful....your choice is perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove the color. Beautiful knit!
ReplyDeletelooks great leslie.
ReplyDeleteThose cables look lovely in navy, too! Lovely. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes! Loooove this sweater. I wear mine all the time. Yours is gorgeous. Makes me want another one in blue.
ReplyDeleteOh, I just love those 'go-to' sweaters that you can throw on any old time! This looks great, Leslie! Although I understand your thoughts on the color, I absolutely LOVE the navy!!
ReplyDeleteI too am making one. I love the blue! We must be on the same wave length...Beautiful work!
ReplyDeletewonderful job leslie! I love a sweater that you can wear all the time...this looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this sweater!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the color you chose is very lovely. I, too, like natural colors, but I think the pattern is lovely in the blue.
Your sweater is gorgeous! And the blue is terrific.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue. What better with a white t and jeans? Another lovely knit.
ReplyDeleteLooks stunning on you!
ReplyDeleteLove that sweater!
ReplyDeleteThat looks fantastic! I've actually got Aidez on the needles, in a light grey colour. Have totally lost my knitting mojo for it though, today was 37C in Sydney today (98.6 F)!
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning.
ReplyDeleteBeautifulknitting...gorgeous sweater! Please have no regrets about the color - indigo is perfect and different from all the natural color sweaters out there!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue! The cables just pop!
ReplyDeletelove it!! love it!! love it!!
ReplyDeleteI think the color is perfect!
and another perfect fit on you.
enjoy.
Love it! I made Aidez in midnight blue as well... but I used a different yarn. I agree with you in the sense the dark color doesn't really highlight the different stitches. However, dark blue looks fabulous on blondes! Enjoy!
ReplyDelete-Dublin16 on Ravelry
This has been in my Rav queue for ages and your post really makes me get on to it! I actually much prefer it in a darker colour rather than the original natural and you confirmed it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I'm almost done with mine--one sleeve to go--and can't wait to put it on!
ReplyDeleteI think it's gorgeous! I wasn't so sure about this one at first because I thought it looked a little too big on the model. There was just something about the fit on her. But now that I see it on you, I'm sold. Then I saw the many that have been made on Ravelry and think I want to give it a whirl. I love the color you chose, too.
ReplyDeleteI love Berroco patterns and will be adding this one to my (ever-growing) list! It's just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
totally cute...as always :)
ReplyDeleteI am so late to the party but LOVE your Aidez! (even in the dark color :-)
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for a cardigan pattern and really wanted to spice things up with cables. After seeing your beautiful blue "aidez" I am pumped!! So glad to have found your blog!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sweater. Looks so cozy too. I'm going to go 'fav' it now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cardigan! You must get so many compliments on it. Well done :)
