i see them everywhere
Tuesday, October 18, 2011I really do.
The way the tape measure fell next to my desk. (I swear to absolute goodness. It made me gasp.)
Under the coffee maker. (I know, right!?)
And then, there. In the sugar, on the snickerdoodle pie.
Could it be any cuter?!
This morning, a big glob of jelly landed on the counter. You guested it... shaped like a heart.
Not sure exactly what it all means. Maybe I should have been a heart doctor?
I don't love the ingredients in this one. However, Charlie asked for the original snickerdoodles. Not just "cinnamon" cookies. I must say, they are pretty darn good. I didn't feel like rolling them into balls, therefore, decided to press it into the pan.

Snicker doodle cookies:
1 cup crisco (not my favorite ingredient) :: 1 1/2 cup sugar :: 2 eggs :: 1/2 tsp vanilla :: 2 3/4 cup flour :: 2 tsp cream of tarter :: 1 tsp baking soda :: 1/2 tsp salt.
-Cream crisco, sugar and eggs, add vanilla and then dry ingredients. Spread in 8" round pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture. (1 tbls sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon)
Bake at 350˚ for 15-20 minutes.
My friend, Amy, shared a snickerdoodle brownie recipe. Those are up next. I'll let you know how those turn out.

Congratulations! You have to be "awake" to see these little surprises. A wonderful way to look at our world.
ReplyDeletei think it means you are surrounded by love.
ReplyDeleteI love your "Keep Calm and Carry On" bag! We have that in a plaque on the wall at work!
ReplyDeleteMy Father-in-law passed away about 8 years ago and for a while after my Mother-in-law saw hears everywhere (she even took a picture of a rubber band bent like a heart to show us all). To her, they were messages from him. I'd like to think she's right. (he was a constant prankster, so he doesn't leave hearts at our house, we just blame him for everything out of the ordinary)
ReplyDeleteAs we know.....love ACTUALLY is everywhere.
ReplyDelete(you just need to be paying attention - so glad to see that you are!)

ReplyDeleteOh, someone is sending you a message. Love you too.
ReplyDeleteI can heartily believe you are surrounded by love :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved this post!! Hearts everywhere...how wonderful. The little sugar heart is the sweetest. I agree with previous posters that you have to be paying attention to see things like this. You are truly living and enjoying the world around you!
ReplyDeleteLove all around. It's sort like when you start seeing 'faces' in the most mundane objects. My kids like to point things out to me.
ReplyDeleteso perfect!
ReplyDeletelove.
ReplyDeleteMay need to make some snickerdoodles. Crisco may be straight lard, but its what makes the cookies so good!!! Same with pie crusts.
ReplyDeleteLove all the hearts!
I have a much-loved spice cookie recipe that calls for crisco, but I find that I like butter-flavored crisco better. I'm not otherwise that fond of crisco either. Love that you are feeling the love!
ReplyDeleteThese are yummy !!!! Maire

ReplyDeleteHearts of the world follow you around! It is a good sign!
ReplyDeleteI like it when things like this happen!
ReplyDeleteI've made something like a snickerdoodle cake before, but I haven't thought about it in years. This looks very tasty.
I am looking forward to your Snickerdoodle Brownie recipe. How great that you are aware enough to see the wonderful things around you. I agree, they are messages and you made someone very happy by seeing them.
ReplyDeleteLooking or not, you'll find yourself surrounded by love! My son (19) loves snickerdoodles. I don't really like to make them because of the crisco. But when I do I always remember that I like them too! Maybe I'll have to make some for him in the next week or so. He's soon heading into the Marines, so I try to do things for him now that I won't be able to do for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool! I'm also one of those who seems to find hearts everywhere out of the blue. Had a couple leaves with hearts in them! See all over in the strangest of place. It's a sweet thing. :)
