she's no trouble. really.
Tuesday, August 16, 2011Last week one morning, I sat outside finishing a baby hat. Debating if I was going to use a contrasting color for the trim and braids. I opted to just go with a solid. (I just happened to take a photo for my 365.)
Upon returning, after filling my coffee cup, this is what I found:
I guess Trouble was pretty happy I didn't use that contrasting color. She could have it all to herself.

Out of this same book.
Using this same yarn.
I have one more on the needles. And then I am casting on for this.
Have a beautiful day!

oh Trouble...you are in trouble! I can see how you can't be angry with him. Such a cutie!
ReplyDeleteOh, that Trouble is just adorable! And I'm so excited that you're knitting Aidez--I think I'll cast on along with you, if you don't mind. I've had the pattern and the yarn ready to go for months, I've just been waiting for I don't know what!
ReplyDeleteSo cute--just a cautionary tale though--my cutie likes yarn too, and ate a small ball. 2 surgeries, 10 days in animal hospital and $5000 dollars later, she is fine. But I keep the yarn away from her.
ReplyDeleteI think most smallish dogs could be named trouble. One of my dachsies loved yarn and one day ran outside with a ball and wrapped it around the deck. Another one had the bad habit of eating knee high hose. My vet told me that if he didn't throw up the stocking within a few minutes to pour hydrogen peroxide down his throat to force him to give up the hose. It did work! Jo
ReplyDeleteOh! I would have loved to watch Trouble do this. I've caught one of my cats in action and it's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you're going to make Aidez. I've had yarn for this for a while, but I keep getting distracted with other projects. What yarn are you going to use?
I love that innocent look.
ReplyDeleteHard to get upset with that face! You are going to make fast work of that new sweater. It's a great choice.
ReplyDeleteTrouble is the perfect name for a dog, lol! Your hat turned out really cute!
ReplyDeleteya gotta LOVE Airedales...I grew up with them (my aunt raised them) and we have had 4...our newest addition is Genevieve who is just 4 months old...and we have a 6 year old Maizie...just lost Clarabel(10) in March...the are just FABULOUS dogs...I do have to keep my knitting up high beyond G's reach!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. naughty Trouble!

I had a similar event last week with my kitten, though the damage wasn't as severe. I was able to turn mine back into a skein. I've linked to the blog post below. :)
ReplyDeleteHe he naughty trouble Lol x
ReplyDeleteThat is a perfect baby hat - works well using the one solid colour.

Trouble is great! That little has is wonderful and I like your sweater pick. I had that one at the top of my list too.
ReplyDeleteOMG, my dog does the same thing! I can't leave any yarn unattended for more than 2 seconds or that exact same thing happens!
ReplyDeletehaha love it. sneaky (But adorable!) dog! great hat!
ReplyDeleteNice selection on the cardigan..I'm sure it will be a winner.
ReplyDeleteTrouble - a very lucky dog to belong to a nice "pack" where they share their fun.
Oh, I love the look on her face! She's all like, "Yeah? So? Whatcha gonna do about it?" Love your cardi choice, too!
ReplyDeleteTrouble has a great name!!! The look is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteTrouble is lucky that he is so darn cute! I love that pattern and have thought about making it. I am trying to use a bit of stash right now. I need to buy per project not because I love the yarn. Trying to find projects absed on what I have is not always as fun as starting totally from scratch.
ReplyDeleteOh trouble you crazy puppy! Cute hat though. Love the red.
ReplyDeleteThat is an aptly named dog. :) Too cute!
ReplyDeleteOh no.. heh heh. And she just has this look on her face like, "What??"
ReplyDeleteMaybe Trouble's thinking she'd like to knit herself a sweater with that yarn! All she needs is some needles and she's good to go. Thanx for the second half of the list and I really enjoyed your last couple of posts...just late at commenting is all. Those lounge pants have been on my mind since I saw your original post and I haven't made time to actually make them. There isn't enough time in a day sometimes. Loved your pix and what a good looking family! I'm excited to see your upcoming finished cardi, too. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteI just purchased this book to make this very hat! I love to watch what your making. I always wanted to learn to knit, but didn't have any family members that knit. Decided it was time to learn with my first grandchild. I absolutely love it! I'm so envious of your talent. Thanks for sharing your art!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to see what sweater you chose. A few more big ASU jobs and I might be knitting the Sullivan. Trouble is very cute! I think he was straightening out the yarn for you.
ReplyDeleteO.M.G! LOL Well at least you were able to finish the other project w/o out!!!!
ReplyDeletethanks for all of the links to all those cardigans...they are all wonderful!
ReplyDeletelounge pants....love them...so super comfy!
Thankfully my dog manages to leave my yarn alone. My cats are another story...
ReplyDeleteWhat's the name of the gorgeous hat you just finished?
Well, the good news is that Trouble went for the yarn rather than the hat - right? BTW, I do like the hat as solid red; it is what I would have chosen to knit (not that my opinion matters!). Lucky baby.
ReplyDeleteI also like the cardigan, especially the shaping in the back. Look forward to progress photos once you cast on.
Note to jo: What a terrible ordeal for you and your dog. Your experience makes a good case for pet insurance. $5K - sheesh!!!
Love this post! :) What a cutie Trouble is- and the yarn strewn about the yard is awesome! Looks like some fun was had :)
ReplyDeleteyay for the upcoming cast-on! Can't wait to see your work upon completion :)
I may need to revisit that book for that pattern! Let us know what yarn you're using for the sweater before it's done?
ReplyDeleteWhile in college, we had an Airedale named Chumley; she was the sweetest most lovable dog ever. I think of her frequently and always when I see Trouble.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore my Aidez. I hope it works out for you!!!
Tough, tough knitting decision out of a bunch of great ideas!
ReplyDeleteAh Trouble! So funny~but really glad she didn't grab the hat instead! ~~Jan
Oh so jealous! Aidez is my favorite of all the suggestions that you posted. I would love to be casting on for that one too.
ReplyDeleteLove that red hat.
ReplyDeleteCute little hat, cute Trouble and cute future Aidez!
ReplyDeleteoh i love that little red hat, i'm glad trouble didn't like it though!
ReplyDeletethe sweater looks so pretty and wearable.
Lucky!

She's just so cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see how your Aidez turns out! I'm glad you picked it!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun...for Trouble! Can't wait to see your sweater all knit up. The baby hat is so sweet...nothing quite like a babe in a hand knit cap.
ReplyDeleteI have that same trouble.
ReplyDeleteI have that same trouble.
ReplyDeleteLove Trouble! Now we know why she got her name...she is a yarn stealer. :) Can't wait to see your Aidez.
ReplyDeleteOh trouble..., what a sweet innocent face! I got a yarn ball thing....it looks like a hamster ball and it keeps the dogs from eating yarn while I work!
ReplyDeleteTrouble has to be the most adorable dog his name suits him well.
ReplyDeleteFunny, my parents had an Airedale named Trouble, too. Think it's something about the breed? The hat's cute! (The dog is, too.)
ReplyDeleteSO adorable...the hat and trouble! My little cousin would look adorable in that winter hat. Decisions. Decisions. Sew or Knit?
