last week
Tuesday, August 30, 2011(You can see it, too, right?)
There was in impromptu visit from sisters and other family members.
Sweet treats were bought at the bakery. (Except for my chocolate chip cookies.)
The first day of school went off without a hitch. (Except for the fact that Andrew got lost, in his new school, at least 16 times.)

(Reminders that they were here made me smile.)
And I waited for my yarn to come. It never did.
So, I worked on this and find it extremely b o r i n g.
Fingers crossed that the UPS man delivers my yarn.
Today.
Have a great one!

The chocolate cake looks heavenly!
ReplyDeleteI hope your son has better luck today; mine is starting Jr High in a new building also. We walked his schedule twice last week during the open house. Hope he does OK this Thursday when he starts.
The cardigan looks a lot more fun than seed stitch!
Oh, I hope your yarn comes today! I have finished the back to my Aidez, and I have cast on for the fronts. I'm doing them at the same time. That bake shop sure has some pretty desserts!
ReplyDeletecrossing my fingers for you! glad to hear that the start of school went off without too many hitches. xo.
ReplyDeleteWaiting on a delivery is torture! I hope you get it today. That cake looks yum!
ReplyDeleteI bet it was fun to have everyone there! Good Luck with the deliveries.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling your pain...I'm waiting for yarn, too. Hopefully mine will come today, too! It always makes my day when the mailman/UPS guy stops by with those wonderful packages. Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteOh I have that pattern queued too - I just haven't figured out what I want to work it up in yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that your week went so well - and the heart in the sunflower would have made my week all by itself.
I love the patern on your dishes (pictured just below the chocolate cake) What is it called??
ReplyDeleteNow THIS is exactly why you need to forgo this good girl "one project at a time" thing. I have... six?... sweaters going even as we speak, so there is no waiting. Well, except for waiting for the sweaters to actually get done....
ReplyDeleteWaiting can be difficult...especially when it's yarn. Hope you ease into the new school routine. Ours begins next Tuesday...agghh!
ReplyDeleteWhat color did you order?
ReplyDeleteI love your seed stitch throw, but I really enjoy doing mindless knits.
ReplyDeleteI haven't born any yarn in so long! I told myself I had to knit a quarter of my stash first. I am getting pretty close.
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteOh no - he got lost! My Ben starts middle school here 1 week from today which is 7th and 8th grades only - big, big school and I worry that he'll got lost too. It's hard at first but they settle in the groove ... hopefully before Thanksgiving :)

Looks like you've started an Aidez movement! I sure hope you were able to cast on today, so you can be wearing it by the end of the week. :)
ReplyDeleteHang in there Andrew! You'll soon be a master at 6th grade!!
Awww - I love the impromptu visit by sisters. Everything looks delicious. I hope your son gets the hang of things quickly and isn't stressed out. BTW, I'm making one of those blankets too... and I totally agree. B-O-R-I-N-G. I also find it really hard on my hands (I guess the constant switching back and forth from knit to purl and vise-versa). I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that your yarn comes today.
ReplyDeleteof course I see it!!
ReplyDeleteUnreal.
Thankfully, love actually is everywhere!

yes Aidez!!! You're going to LURVE it! I got lost in my new apartment complex for a week, tell your son he's ALLL good ;-)
ReplyDeleteNot boring! simple and classic and easy to knit while watching Dancing with the Stars or listening to an audiobook! Finish the blanket!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes put my nose to the glass and wait for the UPS man to deliver. Hurry, hurry, hurry!
ReplyDeleteDid it come, yet? Huh? Did it come?
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling. It makes me feel rather empathetic when kids chant "Are we there yet?" when on a long road trip.
Looks like you had a great visit with your extended family. Hope your son soon becomes acclimated to his new school.
I see it! As a matter of fact you have influenced my eyes and now I am looking for it in my daily life too. I found it one day on the floor in a bathroom stall. The floor was red except where a lovely heart had been warn away in front of each toilet.
ReplyDeleteI love the little signs my sister leaves around my house too. Which is usually abandoned water glasses.
Help if you can!

THANK YOU!
Hope your wool comes soon so that you can take a break from all the seed stitch. And that you have a slice of cake left over for an afternoon snack!
ReplyDeleteI have watched you work on this seed stitch thow for years, I am sorry you find it so boring, but it is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful (and yummy!) collection of photos! I love, love, love the apple and pear one...then how the pear is echoed in your pretty towel. Happy Labor Day!
ReplyDeletemaybe boring, but the seed stitch throw is lovely
