elizabeth
Tuesday, December 07, 2010I love an interesting construction, and Elizabeth definitely offers that. Knit in one piece that only requires sewing together along the sleeve and side seems. Adding a rib collar and front panels (that I foresee taking me some time to complete) to finish the sweater off.
The self striping yarn works so well for this pattern, resulting in vertical stripes along the front and the back. Love that.
Maybe tomorrow.
Oh! To my international friends. I did check with the fine people at the UPS store to see about shipping my place mats overseas. They averaged $150.00 in shipping. Yikes! If in the future I can get a better deal, I will let you know.
Make it a great one.

That does look intriguing. I don't think you would get bored with it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great hot water bottle cover pattern, I think I will go for it. I need something soft and cozy to snuggle it in. The cardigan looks very interesting indeed, can't wait to see the finished one.

ReplyDeleteHOLY COW that is a map to just try and understand what is where and how it all fits together. I can't wait to see it done and try to figure out what was where in this photo.
ReplyDeleteI have the pattern and yarn for the ninebark cowl all ready to go, but for some reason it has sat in my basket for ages....maybe this is the inspiration I need to get on with it! Love your Elizabeth sweater--the color palette is just gorgeous. Can't wait to see it on!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love Cecily MacDonald's designs! I have to get cracking on a few gifts too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited!!! I always like the patterns you choose and always feel guilty when I want (and often do) to knit the exact sweater you do in the exact (or similar yarn) that you choose. Wahoo!!! I already have this yarn and this pattern! Yeah!!! Its next in my cue.
ReplyDeleteI was perplexed by the lack of a second arm till I realised it hadn't been knit yet... Maybe I'll just stick with my cowl as long as I'm suffering from pregnant brain :)
ReplyDeleteNine bark cowl/vest is in my que too. But I was thinking I would cheat and do the cowl in a variegated hand dyed yarn. It would be quicker for me.
ReplyDeleteDuring the hectic holiday times I think you need to knit what you like. That's why I knit the cowl - it was very relaxing.
ReplyDeleteOh man, it already looks great with your boots and jeans and it's not even done yet!
ReplyDeleteWow, that really is some pattern. The yarn is beautiful and I can't wait to see it finished!

ReplyDeleteI have long admired [what I assume to be] your knitting skillz + expertise + patience. »I« am a patient person but do not know if I could commit to a long-term pattern.
