Leslie, I am another fan of the pocket method you prefer. I first tried that technique out decades ago with a Sasha Kagan waistcoat pattern and really liked the result.

Why do it any other way?

Are you using the same yarn? The wickerwork pattern seems a lot more clear in your swatch (I'm assuming it is a large swatch) than it does on the Berocco site.

Ahh pockets. I have never made pockets before, but I will have to learn soon since there is nothing better then sticking your hands in pockets when it gets chilly (which will be happening soon). I'm excited to see your progress with this one!
