your header
Thursday, July 01, 2010How it usually goes:
I get an email or a text from my sister, Shelly.
Shelly: time to change your header. Me: ideas? Shelly: paw prints (troubles), sprinkles, daisies. Me: sprinkles, as in rain? Shelly: sprinkles, as in ice cream! Me: k, :), xoxox
A few of my past headers:
It's usually something I don't think about. So, the reminder from my sister is always welcomed. I owe some people an email on how to make a header. And I do have a couple of friends with new blogs that may need some help. (Hi, Jennie. Time to dust off yours, Amy.) I usually crop my picture on my computer. And then I head on over to picnik where I add the text. (You can crop and do everything over in picnik, though.) Molly had some great info on how to make headers, too. In fact, she helped me remove my boarder that was around the header.

ReplyDeleteI forget about changing mine too. In fact, mine is about 7 or 8 months old. Must change it now!
ReplyDeleteI just changed mine, since it used to be just text... I guess that's not much of a header, is it? Yours are very cute!
ReplyDeleteLoving the new one. I was trying to decide which of yours I liked best but I just don't know, I think I always like the current one best because it so often captures the mood of the season.
ReplyDeleteI love your new header! I always enjoy seeing them as they change . . . each one is always so *YOU*. That Shelly's a great sister :-)

I love all those headers and I always love all Molly's too! I think about changing mine but then I do really adore that painting my little one did of our house and after all IT IS Mousy Browns House so I guess I might keep it a bit longer.....
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your borders. I think the Christmas one is my all-time favorite though. I need a border. Don't think I ever did add one.... :)
ReplyDeleteyour header are always lovely. i love your blog, and your headers really make it perfect. great job to you and your sister, keep up the creative work (and knitting / baking)
ReplyDeletehave i told you how often i think of your header with the dress form and christmas lights? everytime i think of dressforms (which is strangely often.) one of my faves.
ReplyDeleteYour headers always look great Leslie :-)
ReplyDeleteI really should update mine. Despite working in design a lot (off and on since college), I have a tendency for my personal sites to look a little unfinished and juvenile. I really should change the backgrounds and colors so that just changing the header is all I need for a new polish.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked your headers. I wish I had the computer sense to update my own blog. A good friend did it for me a year or so ago, but is too busy to do so again (returned to college). I appreciate your links. Maybe this old dog can learn some new tricks (but not holding my breath). ;-Þ
ReplyDeleteHow fun to look at your header retrospective! I think my favorite is the one looking down into the coffee cup. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI always love all your headers! And picnik is my utmost favorite!! =]
ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful help - any day now - any day, I tell you! - I will come back for it! (Seriously!) Hey! I was thinking of you the other day - I was reading Sen. Byrd's obit. Guess what his doggie's name was? TROUBLE! It must be a Southern thing. Right? I mean, I'd never heard of it before; had you?
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny!! My husband is the one who reminds that my header needs to be changed and then we discuss the next look.
ReplyDeleteI love that you can share this with your sister!
Thanks to you and your links, I changed my header today! I always love yours.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a header at all. I hope you'll still talk to me. I like my blog without a header, but I do change a few font colors just about every time I post. That's my little costume change.
ReplyDeleteI really love your barefoot header and your coffee cup + fall leaves header.
PS--and the daisy header.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that I recognized more than half of your headers. That means I've had a friend to knit with for a while. Happy July to you too!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this post. I've always wanted to be able to have my own header on my blog and after reading your post, my computer geek husband and I were able to sit down and create one with our very own picture. After it was finished, I had to keep looking at it through out the day. I was blog proud!
