hope
Tuesday, January 19, 2010I'm sure you have been talking about it. And I am sure, like me, looking at those faces makes you feel helpless. I am also sure you have heard of Craft Hope for Haiti, but just in case you haven't, take a look here. 100% of the proceeds from the shop go to Doctors without Borders. I donated that pair of toast mitts. They may not show up in the shop for a while as the list of donations is quite large. How awesome is that!

This is an amazing effort. I hadn't heard about this shop until just now. What's wonderful is that only about $500 was projected, and now they are surpassing $10,000! What fantastic news!
ReplyDeleteIt is a fantastic effort. I love the warmers you knit, gorgeous colours.

ReplyDeleteI have a hard time watching the news...especially the children's faces. praying for haiti.
I just donated an item tonight, too. It's humbling to be part of such an awesome, giving community. I'm sure those fingerless gloves will sell fast!

ReplyDeleteGood on you!
ReplyDeleteMy heart is warmed by the efforts everyone seems to be making to help those in Haiti. I suppose all that love offsets the gruesomeness of those cruise ships that are still docking on Haiti's private beaches.
Wow. I hadn't heard of this shop, but there is an amazing number of items listed there. It's a great effort from the crafting community.

ReplyDeleteWe all feel very sad at the loss of so many lives at Haiti...and anything little that we can do to help the people there is less.Donating a little something to the ones who are needy is a very kind act that all of us must indulge in.
