what's going on?
Friday, October 16, 2009So, you know when you are so busy but can't explain what you are doing? Yep, that pretty much sums me up these days. Running in circles would pretty much explain it. I'm a little behind on my mystery socks. Hope to change that this weekend.
I did start a new project. Something for Libby. Fast going on size 8 needles holding two strands (check out those colors!) together.
That photo looks a little funny to me. Must have been the lighting. A cold, rainy, dark and dreary day.
A perfect day for baking cookies. This weeks cookie of the week: Rosemary's old time ginger snaps. A HUGE hit.

I recommend making some this weekend. You won't be sorry.
Have a great one.

ReplyDeleteI love college, but I miss baking cookies! The sweater looks awesome!
I understand that feeling. The sweater is great - the color cards are dreamy... Will be baking those cookies this weekend; the weather is calling for some warming ginger. :)
ReplyDeleteHow do you like Veronik's new designs and yarns? I love her interview in VK and how she compares her yarns with art mediums. Now that I've seen the colors of Nordique, I can understand why. Thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look scrumptious. Ginger is my favourite (and the fact that no one else in the house will eat them is a HUGE bonus in my view).
ReplyDeleteMmm, will have to try those Ginger Snaps!
ReplyDeleteYour new knit looks lovely. :)
The only thing holding me back from baking those cookies this very minute would be my less-than-sparkling kitchen...
ReplyDeleteAnd lucky Libby! Looks great so far...
Enjoy the knitting-

Love what u r going to knit for Libby. cant wait to see the finished. where do u buy the yarn ? i m looking to buy some wool to knit for my next holiday in Japan. I like your choice of yarn.
ReplyDeleteMmmm! Ginger cookies are my favorites. I am curious about the socks since that is pretty much all I am knitting these days - except all I can seem to muster is the most basic ones. Life has been a bit on the crazy side. I admire you for still knitting even if you are busy. I should force myself to knit - it would most likely calm me down a bit.
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look yummy. I am thinking to whip up a batch today.
ReplyDeleteThe sweater looks great.
They look pretty similar to the ginger biscuits I make, I love them dipped in my tea. Libby's sweater looks adorable, love the colour.
ReplyDeleteI have a "thing" for classic elite too! I have an entire sweaters worth of CE yarn and the pattern just sitting waiting for me to learn more knitting. And I've told you before I wish I had my own Libby, but this makes me wish to BE Libby. Seriously, how many kids grow up with someone MAKING them sweater love?
ReplyDeleteLove the hoodie, and I'd just sworn I wouldn't buy any more knitting patterns! And the cookies look delicious. Really craving gingersnaps now... K x
ReplyDeleteis that a christmas card sweater? it really is adorable.
ReplyDeleteLOVE ginger snaps!~ I must go bake some as well. Beautiful pictures as always!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute new blog header!
ReplyDeleteI think the overwhelming sense of running in circles these days is posing to be a universal phenomenon. Here's to finding some more chill time for sitting, relaxing, and of course knitting!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
The color is perfect for Fall. I can't wait to see the sweater.
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater! Love hoodies! Just can't explain it but I do. Going to bookmark that sweater for sure.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of your new sweater. Your cookies look delicious - I will have to get my daughter to bake these for us!
ReplyDeleteWhat does one do when they are down sick in bed for a week.....they read other people's blogs which I have done with yours. Start to finish and it has been an enjoyable two days. I am a new knitter and am excited to branch out a bit and try some new things. Thanks for letting me lurk!
ReplyDeleteI love that sweater! The perfect weight, color, everything! I'm adding it to my list!
ReplyDeletethose cookies sound perfect...I love ginger snaps, especially dipped in pumpkin dip. :) The sweater you're kniting for Libby looks like one she'll wear all the time. I love the chunky cables.
ReplyDeleteI am working away on those socks too but I really won't have them done by the end of the month. Oh well. I am really going to make up some of those gingersnaps...perfectly fall!
ReplyDeleteOh, pretty sweater! That Libby is one lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteIt's good weather for making cookies. Me, I'm making lots of brownies. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love gingersnaps. They might very well be my most favorite cookie of all!
ReplyDeletesuch a fun sweater, and great colour too!
ReplyDeletethose cookies look yummy!
I think I've made those. They are awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the purpose of holding two strands together? Was this originally a smaller guage knit, but you wanted to do it on bigger needles to go faster?
Such busy days. Those cookies will help me get through the rush. Thanks!
ReplyDeletecute, cute, cute! are you getting ready for the Christmas card picture?
ReplyDeleterunning in circles could describe me the last few weeks as well! I need some FOCUS! hoping to find it this week...
ReplyDeletelibby's sweater, simply adorable. can't wait to see the modeling shots. could you be preparing for a christmas card?
the cookies are on my list for this week!
I saw your pattern "Libby" on ravelry.com. They led me here for a free copy of the pattern. But I can't find it. Am I doing something wrong?
ReplyDeleteIts a small world. I have been reading your blog for about a year now off and on - today I noticed your ginger cookies and followed the link and saw they were from my friend Rosemary who lives just up the street from me! :)
ReplyDeleteYum!!! Ginger spice cookies are my favorite! Thanks for the link!n
ReplyDeleteLibby's sweater looks beautiful. and those cables will make it nice and warm. ginger snaps are my favorite cookie but I've never made them because the kids don't eat them - I just buy the triple ginger snaps from trader joe's.
ReplyDeleteKnitting and cookies, perfect!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I totally wish you lived closer too, or maybe I wish I lived closer to you, which would mean away from the Frozen Tundra...
ReplyDeleteUm, yeah, we could've loaded you up with watermelon! It was tasty, and so cool that we successfully grew them ourselves, but who would've thought that one could grow sick of watermelon? Okay, I confess, it wasn't the watermelon really, it was the mess of cutting into the watermelon, and the many sticky hands and arms, LOL! (I'm already looking forward to next year's!!)
Happy knitting-
ali

ReplyDeleteLibby is so lucky that you're knitting her that pretty sweater! You are lucky that she'll wear it. My oldest will not wear any handknits. :(
ReplyDeleteYes, yes I do know! I am SO behind. Really great banner yet again. That sweater is such a great color. It's so hard to find nice patterns past toddler sizes. Can't wait to see it modeled.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way all the time. Where do the hours go? There is hardly time to do all of the things I want to do even when I don't feel scattered to the four winds!
ReplyDeletethe picture of the cookies is so pretty, i dont know why those kinds of cookies always turn out just perfect. :)
ReplyDeletenew here, but am sure to be back. knitting and i are brand new friends, but that chunky beanie may be my first post-scarf effort -- i love it so! beautiful site. *molly
