this weeks...
Wednesday, October 21, 2009So, with a clean kitchen, one boy reading, the other two at youth group (I love youth group... for more reasons than one) I sit to blog at night. (Laundry machines and baskets are full... but who cares?)
This weeks cookie: Grandma Mollie's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, from Jane. I left out the raisins simply because I didn't have them. (And the walnuts simply because they don't like them.) After school, all twelve cookies from that dish were gone in a matter of minutes.
I am anxiously awaiting this weeks clue for the mystery socks. Loving this pattern.
Hope this week is going well for you.

Thanks for the ginger cookies you posted about last week. I made them that day and they were delicious. We just finished them today. Time to make more cookies!
ReplyDeleteI am anxious for the next clue too. This is my first mystery sock and I am loving it!
your socks are looking very nice! thursdays have new appeal, don't they? ;-)
ReplyDeletei made last week's cookie too; thank you, they were yummy! maple syrup banana bread today - all gone! your cookies for this week look especially tempting in that dish...
LOVE the "cookie dish"! I'm over my head in making cookies for a family gig on Saturday. On the list... pumpkin drop cookies. I wait all year to make these, thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the socks in gray. I may need to make another pair in a similar yarn.
ReplyDeleteYour socks are looking great, I love the colour.
ReplyDeleteThe socks look terrific in gray.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cookie dish! They look great, no wonder the cookies were gone so fast.
I'm so glad you were able to catch up on your socks. My pair has trumped my regular knitting but it's so satisfying to have socks this far along in such a short time.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of needles do you use?
ReplyDeleteThe socks look great! I never got around to joining... it's been such a crazy fall! On the plus side, though, I have, one year later, finally gotten close to finishing my inca marl ruffle coat you got me started on. Just have to finish that never-ending ruffle (I'm only half way) and I'll be done.
ReplyDeleteI had one of those youth group moments tonight myself, but at Connor's age they call it BLAST. I spent the hour and a half at Panera making a to do list for the last part of the week. Cookie making comes on Friday for me. Your socks are looking great!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies sounds delicious. I have yet to try the ginger cookies from last week but they are on the to do list. I also love that grey color of your socks. Pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh those cookies look and sound delicious and so perfect for this time of year. And I love the gray socks as well! K x
ReplyDeletei have been done since saturday on the clue and waiting too!
ReplyDeleteYou seem to find the best cookie recipes. The socks are looking rather nice, love those cables.
ReplyDeleteLove the spider dish! The sock looks great too.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could knit better. I was taught to knit with the one needle between my legs and now it is so hard to change that habit. So it is insanely slow to knit and so I stick with crochet, but man knit patterns are so much prettier!!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look fab
Thanks for posting the cookie recipe. I'll be testing it out!
ReplyDeletesee, i told you! weren't they good?
ReplyDeleteI love nights like that. Contentment. Love the color and yarn you chose for the mystery socks!
ReplyDeleteI love your new header. So cute. Especially since you are wearing a knit sweater - now whether you actually knit that sweater is the question!
ReplyDeleteSelkie
those socks look divine. oh, and I bet I would love that new white kitchen!
ReplyDeleteHey, talking about blog headers, can you give me some pointers on how to create them? I would love to update mine...
ReplyDeleteI tried once before, but couldn't figure out how to make the header clickable.

I'm making some progress in my mystery sock and already thinking I'll need to make another pair, too!
ReplyDeleteLove the dish the cookies are in. I recently was given a handmade cookbook with lots of goodies in it that my husband's grandmother made for me when we were first married. Father in law found it in her stuff in the attic. I can't wait to start making some stuff each week for the family.
ReplyDeleteDarling 16 yr. old daughter is making pumpkin spice bread with cream cheese frosting as I comment. She was in the mood to bake, and I was in the mood for pumpkin bread. Works for us both! :)
ReplyDeleteThose socks are looking fantastic, but I can not even think about making them now. I have started on Christmas presents. I have spent the past 30 min. on the internet trying to find out how to read a cable chart in the round. Finally, I found it. Anemoon in Velvet Grapes Malabrigo (for the same one making bread) is well on the way.
I always look forward to your posts!~Jan
Oh yum! I don't think I've ever met an oatmeal cookie I didn't like!
ReplyDeleteI'm behind on my socks, not too far. If I can finish my sweater in anotherday or too, I may still be able to finsih my socks before the end of the month- which would be much better than last year!
Happy knitting-
ali
Love the socks. I started the mystery socks and did not have enough time to do the pattern well, so I am just making a great pair of orange ( halloween) socks.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, you are one power knitter.
Also loving the Mystery sock pattern. Waiting a week between clues is definitely a challenge!
ReplyDeleteYour socks are gorgeous, love the color. I'm so bummed I missed the boat on the mystery socks... again.

The cookies look great, no wonder they were all gone. I love oatmeal chocolate chip myself.
ReplyDeleteI love your holiday themed dish, though I would have been horribly tempted to put chocolate crinkle cookies in there (even though they remind me of Christmas and not Halloween).
ReplyDeletelooks yummy to me! im pretty sure they'd all be gone quite fast from my own kitchen too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great bowl. I love the little spiders. The color you've chosen for these socks is fab too! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeletesomething about knitting and baking goes togeth so well! those cookies look perfect. jane has already tempted me to try them.
ReplyDeleteeverything looks yummy! the mystery sock is fun for sure...although I can already see the writing on the wall...I'm going to be behind this week. I think this foot section is the longest section we've had.
ReplyDeleteNice blog... I really enjoyed it. I saw your sister Anne post it on FB. I know Anne from Boulder.
