empire waist cardigan
Monday, August 03, 2009Hello, there. Happy August!
I would love to tell you all about our trip to tahoe. And how envious I am of all that get to experience that on a daily basis. And share some photos, considering I took 991 of them.
However, I am more excited to share the empire waist cardigan which includes a little of this magical spot.
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this sweater. Do I say that a lot? I think I might. But seriously, this one! This one has moved up to my number one spot. It was a piece of cake to knit, the construction was totally fun, and talk about wearable. Heck, you can throw this on at anytime with anything.
I seriously am going to make this in another color. I would love to make it out of a wool for the fall.
Pattern: empire waist cardigan
And I must mention that photo credits go to my wonderful sister, Lisa. Who I made hike her skirt up to climb over a fence and climb down some rocks, all for my blog. Thanks Lisa, you're the best. (Well, you are too, Shelly.)

Beautiful sweater! Love the pics. I just perused your day at a time photos....I picnic with my kids in the meadows all the time isn't it beautiful? Did you hike Mt. Rose while you were out here?

ReplyDeleteI've not yet been too Tahoe...well, unless you count watching on TV (you know, armchair traveling) that Celebrity Golf Championship with Michael Jordan that was on not too long ago...but, your glorious pictures have moved it up on the list of places to go! So glad you had a great time. Delicious family & Mother Earth moments!
ReplyDeleteAnd absolutely love the empire waist cardigan. It looks beautiful on you...the color, the drape, those wonderful sleeves. Yep, totally make this again not only because it was a fun knit, but because a sweater should most definitely be comfy, functional and fit to the wearer's total pleasure!
Sweet Tahoe Dreams...

Oh, that does look fabulously wearable! So very cute!
ReplyDeleteYour vacation spot looks and sounds so refreshing, beautiful, just beautiful.
Lake Tahoe looks so beautiful, and so is your new sweater, in such a sweet colour. Very nice.

ReplyDeleteVery lovely sweater! I have never knit an adult sweater... yet... though I'm sure I could if I tried. This might be the one I start with. I love Classic Elite. :-)

ReplyDeleteYour sweater is just gorgeous. I love the color! Post more pics from the trip please...no vacation for me this summer, so I must live vicariously through others' travels this year!!
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog, and I love it .I only wish I could knit. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow. That is one fast sweater! It wasn't that long ago when you started it.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a sweater that I can just toss on over anything. It's too easy to get trapped into pairing a garment with only one or two items of clothing!
I do love the sweater and the scenery. Great pictures. What about the short sleeves for fall? Are you thinking of making them longer? I'm always a little to cautious and practical when it comes to knitting a sweater for myself.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I've put this on my list of next to make (once I finish the 3 others I have started). Can't wait to see what your next project will be!
ReplyDeleteThis cardigan is so cool, lovely details! And thanks to Lisa :)
ReplyDeleteit is stunning. and in my favorite colour, it's hard to resist looking into how difficult this pattern may be for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cardigan and how practical does it look! I could imagine myself with one at the office in a color that goes with everything... Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteI am so impressed! Seriously I don't know how I came across your blog but I love it. I don't knit, but would love too, I do some basic crochet, but I never in the world thought real people knitted sweaters still. I'm not kidding I thought it was only afghans and hats.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in that sweater! Glad to hear you had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteETA: When I said, "almost as gorgeous as your lovely surroundings" I was in no way belittling the fantabulous sweater. It's just, man, your surroundings are incomparably awesome!
ReplyDeleteI hope you didn't hike too far in your beautiful new sweater. Although, they are made for wearing, of course ;)

ReplyDeleteLeslie, I think Classic Elite might have to give you a kickback. Surely sales of this pattern and yarn are surging. I have to admit, I didn't think much of the sweater initially but you make it look like a fantastic find. Can't wait to see what other colors you choose to add to your wardrobe.
