lovely color--great contrast with the snow!

I've been thinking about what you might do for today, especially as the blocks I'm making for a lap quilt have lots of purple. I knew I couldn't photograph and capture what you do, paying such close attention to detail, color, and...reflection. Toasty warm snow. I love it.

I'd be hard pressed to find purple in my house...

Those are truly a special gift for any friend. Cashmere is my favorite..not that I could afford anything more than gloves, socks, etc. in cashmere. Some day though I'm gong to splurge.

Will be giving "toast" in charcoal wool, to my friend for her b-d on Thursday. Thank you so much for sharing the pattern.

It's such a pretty purple too. I'm not a huge purple fan so it would be hard to find in my home too.

Thought I would introduce myself. Have just found your blog and loving it. My mother was a great knitter and tried dearly to teach my sister and I as girls, but we never really took to it. However, the fundamentals have stayed with me and now at 37 I am revisiting. My mother is no longer with us, but I am sure she is looking down and is happy her hard work paid off eventually, even though it took 30 odd years! My next project is to make the Toasty. Your plum ones are wonderful, a very lucky friend who gets those!

(and when i read your post with the super accented, i was reminded of the movie of madeline. surely libby has seen it, since she is a fan? it's the one in which frances macdormand plays miss clavel? anyway, there is a school girl who says super super often, with much emphasis. makes me smile. i miss madeline.)

ooh - looking forward to tomorrow. It's hard how colors either dominate or lack in our surroundings! I think we tend to gravitate towards the same ones a lot!

I cannot believe that I still have not made a pair of these! At least twice a day as I head out the door I find myself thinking of how well a pair of Toast would look with whatever I am wearing. The plum ones are gorgeous and would go really well with my coat. That's it, I am going to the yarn shop tomorrow, I'm determined.

Those are great! I have not learned how to knit on double pointed needles yet. Do you think I could knit them on 12" circulars, or would the needles be too long?

That yarn is delicious. Now those are some special Toasts! Can I just tell you that my Toasts are probably my most-worn knitted accessory? Love them!

Purple is probably my favourite colour and yet I think I would be hard pressed to find some in the house too. Interestingly though I have a special skein of purple yarn sent to me from the US...earmarked for a pair of Toasts for myself!
