all about....
Saturday, January 31, 2009Hello, Saturday. Sunny, cold, eight inches of snow on the ground, cookies for my breakfast, Saturday.
Brian mentioned that he made these, and the next thing you know, I was too. Another slice and bake...love that. My kids think the best part is when they bite into a chip. Clearly I did not put enough chips in them. Also, my dough was a little too crumbly. I ended up adding 13 tablespoons of butter instead of 11.
I also had a wonderful surprise last month that I have been meaning to mention. Carolynn sent a box filled with the most amazing things. Homemade cookies in a vintage tin, homemade soaps (and the supplies to make our own felted soap), a knit washcloth, scrubbies that I LOVE and stitch markers. All made by her. Along with a signed Stephanie Pearl-McPhee book and some lovely buttons. Thank you so much Carolynn!

Have a great weekend. :)
Oh my! I'd like to try one of those delicious cookies...but then again, maybe not...go figure.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the mood of a little baking today, myself. Cold wintry days were made for spending a day in the house baking, knitting, watching movies, letting kids paint your nails.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, so now I need to start keeping a stash of bittersweet chocolate, eh? I have added cocoa powder to my cupboards, much to my martha stewart-y sister's delight, for repeated makings of alton's cocoa mix, which has been much to my kids' delight...
ReplyDeleteMy giant batch of sugar cookies is almost gone, perhaps these will be next...
Back to the knitting!

Mmmm cookies are good any time. So, I need to think about this. Should I go out in the yard (sorry, I'm not meaning to rub it in..but it is 60 degree outside) and work, or should I bake cookies. I suppose I could do both:)

ReplyDeleteThank you for the wise critique. Me & my neighbour have been getting ready to do a little analysis about that. We received an excellent guide on that matter from our local library and most books where not as influensive as your information. I am very glad to see such information which I used to be searching for a protracted time. This made very glad! Anyway, in my language, there aren't a lot good source like this.
ReplyDeleteI've to say, I dont know if its the clashing colours or the unhealthy grammar, but this blog is hideous! I imply, I dont want to sound like a know-it-all or something, however may you will have possibly put slightly bit more effort into this subject. Its really interesting, however you dont characterize it properly in any respect, man. Anyway, in my language, there aren't much good source like this.
