Saturday, November 08, 2008dear lily,
I was so excited to get your package. I love the bag so much. I can't believe that you made it, being the same age as me. Although, after seeing your projects, it is no surprise. It is so cute, and is holding my project.
The book is so interesting, and hard for me to put down. I love that it is set in a place that you visit.
These chocolates are so delicious, and they even have your name on them! I wonder if they only make them in England. I shared some with my brothers.
Thank you so much for everything!
love, libby
P.S. Happy Birthday to you!
P.S. S. Lily is the daughter of Amanda.

What great gifts and what lucky girls to have found a friendship across a great big pond :-)
ReplyDeleteMakes me want to have penpals again like I used to when I was in school. How exciting it was to get a letter from Germany or France back then. As exciting as it is to get email and keep in touch on the computer, there's nothing that beats the great 'snail mail' letter :-)
Too cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great array of gifts, it really is fantastic to build freindships across continents. The chocolates are from a company here in Ireland, neighbours of ours, my daughter went to school with Lily http://www.lilyobriens.ie/ daughter of Mary Ann, who owns the business. Margie.

ReplyDeleteSwallows and Amazons - yea! You must try to find the whole series. I bought them all when my loser library decided to purge them - good for me, though. I think I paid about a dollar each at the library book sale.
