calling all boot lovers
Sunday, October 12, 2008So, you know those boots? Over in my sidebar? Well, I get a lot of e-mails asking what kind they are. They are Frye boots, but unfortunately have been discontinued.
I have a friend that also has them. She is looking for a little extra cash and wanted to put them on E-bay. I thought I would offer them here first.
They are Frye boots, size 8. Unlike me, she has worn hers only a handful of times, and they are in great condition. She would like to get $100.00. No need to comment here. Please e-mail her directly at michelle.f.smith1@gmail.com. ***sold--thank you!
We did have cookie of the week last week. Lots and lots of cinnamon cookies. I must have gone through 2 pounds of butter. I made a trip to Penzeys for more Saigon cinnamon. Thank you to everyone who recommended Penzeys. While in there I had an urge to bake a pie, grill seafood, roast a turkey and make a stew. Beautiful, wonderful, amazing store.

I LOVE my Frye's! And that is a great price!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to make those cookies and now I think you've sent me over the edge. Yum!
ReplyDeleteThose are great looking. Too bad my feet are way too small for them. :)
ReplyDeleteWish my feet were bigger!
ReplyDeleteI love those boots!! I too wish my feet were bigger...just a little bit...I wonder if thick socks will do the trick! Hehe!
ReplyDeleteOh man! Now I feel bad with all these folks saying they wish their feet were bigger. I wish my feet were smaller :S
ReplyDeleteAh, I wish they were a size bigger!
ReplyDeleteI tried the cinnamon cookies and I didn't particularly love them because I'm a chocolate fiend, and cookies without chocolate are not often worth it for me... BUT, Sailor boy got them in a package from me this week and he sure loved them!
I had to make Pumpkin Drop Cookies again this weekend at the request of Kristen (or Pumpkin Daisies) as she has named them! She also wanted me to add choc chips to these which I did (no nuts cos she doesn't like them) and I have to say they came out even better than the first ones I made a couple of weeks ago:-)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a lovely weekend.
Those are some great boots - drat I am a 7.5! I made your cinnamon cookie suggestion today, wow - my whole family loves them! And the tip on the saigon cinnamon - priceless!
ReplyDeletedude. if only i were a size 8!
ReplyDeleteyour bracelet is really cool, leslie.
Oh, well, I'm a half size larger! I'm sure someone will take them, though. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteDid you go to the one in the strip, I think that is our only one. So awesome! great gift boxes for people.
ReplyDeleteglad you liked Penzeys! it's a lot like a yarn shop - too many tempting things to spend your pennies on! a dangerous place if you're susceptible to the impulse buy.
ReplyDeletelove the boots - way WAY too small for me...besides, i'm more of a birkenstock girl, anyway.
So glad you discovered Penzey's...we have one near us and I make regular restashing visits. I love their Chinese Cinnamon. Try the Sandwich Sprinkle for making homemade croutons. Also, their Country French Vinaigrette is fantastic! I do like that they let you refill the bottles - better for the earth and better on the wallet.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you discovered Penzey's too! I love that place. I love that it is a native of Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteDang, my feet are about a half size too big too... Usually. I love those boots. They don't run big, do they? :)
am totally having an evil-step sister moment here. how i wish i was an 8 instead of a 9. wonder what i could cut off to fit in those boots???
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw these boots on your page I went on a mad hunt for them. Wish I was a size 8!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Penzeys. I've never been to a store but order from the catalog for all of our spices.
ReplyDeleteThose are really cute boots. I'm not much of a boot wearing person. In fact, I don't like shoes period. I was born with some feet problems and even though they've been corrected, I can never find the right fitting shoe, let alone boot! :( Oh well.
ReplyDeleteOh, those would so fit me! I bet they're gone by now and my wallet is empty anyway.
ReplyDeleteLove your Toast/Toasty patterns!
I LOVE those boots! Shame they discontinued them. Shame my feet are too small! Also Love the cinammon cookies. AWESOME Thanks
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish I was not a big footed troll! But I don't think I can copy you on this one, not with my 9 and a halfers!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Penzey's had a store! I've just used their catalog/online stuff - I can't imagine what the place must have smelled like. Awesome!
I LOVE those boots, but my feet are too big.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get the cinnamon you talked about on the last post? I am dying to try those cookies!
what a great friend helping another!
ReplyDeleteI really need to get to Penzey's. It's my favorite store that I have, ahem, never managed to either go or buy anything from. I have been drooling over the catalogs for years now!
ReplyDeleteOh, man. I've been lusting over Frye boots for ages. I'd have loved to grab these up. I'm sure they've already been snatched!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, would you mind terribly if I linked you in my "Rotating List of Super Web Distractions" sidebar?
Best,
Hadley
those boots sure are cute! hope your friend is able to sell them...you're a good friend to help her out!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so excited to here that the Saigon cinammon can be found at Penzeys. We have a Penzeys right here in our neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteOh I am sure that those boots will be snapped up right quick!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you need to post some new knitting content to knock this post down a bit further... I keep coming back to long for lovely boots. I saw this post right away, and if they were 1 size bigger, and I had an extra hundred laying around, I would've hesitated oh, about 3.5 seconds before snatching those up- they are so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI've been a boot person since junior high... with a weakness for 'Docs' (Doc Martens) in the 90's, and classy tall riding boots these days... on the lookout for some fun slightly more rugged lovelies now...
Anyhoo, still waiting for baby... passing time blog hopping, and longing for new boots- it's a good season to buy new boots, right?
Happy knitting-
ali
I'm with Eve - I wish my feet were smaller, love the boots, hope they found a happy home.
ReplyDeleteDid the boots sell?
ReplyDeleteNice blog as for me. I'd like to read something more concerning this topic.
