thanks for the recipe! I'm going to use it today. Every time my husband or I run to the store, we buy another pint of strawberries and we seem to have done that a lot lately so I have lots to use up.

i love that you researched the hell out of the yarn over. sometimes i feel like an inexperienced knitter when i have to dig through every resource to find an answer to something like that.

i hope that ruby comes together for you without the need of any extra yarn. there must be something in the air lately, as everyone's running out of yarn towards the wrap-up of projects.

Fresh headers are inspirational, don't you think? I used Picnik for mine too (since I was out of town and only had access to web apps).

Your header is lovely and now, even though the little dandies closed back up, you'll have a memorial of your little guy's happy face.

Thank you for the photo link thing. I like to change my header often and wanted to make my own. Ruby will be great, the cables are fab.

I ran out of wool when I was knitting a little jacket for my nephew. The shop didn't have the dye lot and at the time, it was the only store importing Debbie Bliss yarns to Australia. So, in a panic, I sent out an email to all of my overseas friends (most non-knitters). Within half an hour I got an email back from my friend Kristina in Halifax, Canada, to say that the wool shop across the road had it and would I like one ball or two! Lucky hey? So, the jacket is an international one now!Isn't it lovely to have friends all over th world?

now I should have checked the blog first and then I would know it was strawberry,not rhubarb...thanks for sharing...

AS far as I know 'yarn round needle' is the same as yarn over! Strange that you are told to do that but don't need holes?

an update - totally fab with the addition of rhubarb. I decreased the amount of sugar in the batter because I added sugar to the fruit. We're going to use this recipe all spring and summer long for peaches and apples and pears and plums and blueberries and huckleberries and....

I am keeping everything crossed that you will not run out of yarn, I think slimming the sleeves should work well.

Oh my gosh, the header is so lovely and perfectly in tune with the season, such a sweet son, I love when my two bring me flowers. Now I am off to add strawberries to my shopping list....

I made this cake for brunch today and it was a HUGE hit! Thanks so much for posting the recipe -- it was so, so good!

I finally got around to trying the recipe this evening. Very yummy cake. I think I will try blueberry or raspberry (or both!) next.

This recipe was soooo good - I made it using the in season blackberries... I will try not to eat the entire thing myself....
