babies
Monday, February 25, 2008Baby knits are just the best to knit. Quick, rewarding, and the cuteness factor can be so high. When Kim (who is a new aunt) made these and these, I knew they would be perfect for a friend who just adopted a baby girl.
Pattern: Merry Janes
Yarn: 1 ball Knit Picks, Shine Sport, grass
1 ball Knit Picks Risata, Buttermilk
Needles: size 2, circular and double point
Speaking of babies, Keana and I met at our local yarn store, and I finally got to meet her beautiful baby, Jack. Isn't he the sweetest thing ever!
And, do you do this? When you are in a yarn store, do you wonder if everyone in there has a blog? I do. And on this particular day, Keana was talking to the Add Knitter about her Koolhas Hat and we didn't even know it was her!! And, she was with Purlfriend! What a small world.
On a completely different topic, I finally got my car back on Friday. Unfortunately, I won't be hitting the roads today, the flu has hit our house. I have Charlie home. I just hope it doesn't go through the whole house.
Back tomorrow with cookies.

Those are absolutely precious! Perfect, perfect, perfect, and I LOVE them in green! Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteYes! I'm exactly the same in yarn stores! What amazes me is that I'm still meeting people at my LYS who haven't heard of Ravelry, let alone blogs.
ReplyDelete...and such dinky cute bootees you have thre!!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute booties & baby! It's funny how the booties matches the clothes of the other baby...

those booties are adorable. And that baby? so so cute.
ReplyDeleteI saw those booties over at Kim's site, I must add them to my 'to do' list, they are adorable. And yes, I often wonder if anyone has a blog. I look on Ravelry too for gals in my area, most of them don't have a blog and the ones that do don't blog much :-( Guess I'll just have to stick with cyber knitting friends.
ReplyDeleteI hope Charlie feels better soon, and you don't all get sick. Top up with Vit C!
Hugs Denise
Oh, they are so sweet in the green! Love 'em!
ReplyDeleteAnd Jack is so darn adorable!
Yes, I definitely wonder that, especially when I'm at Webs. But I don't know if I would have the nerve to actually go up to someone if I did recognize them.
I love baby knits, and these mary janes are so cute! And cookies, i will definitely be back for the cookies.
ReplyDeletePositively darling! I must have the pattern too:) I wonder about bloggers too when I am out and about - I love that we can be anonymous to the world unless we choose to reveal ourselves. The flu has hit my house today too - just me, so far - hope it stays that way! ugh.
ReplyDeleteThose are precious little shoes in every way! What a thoughtful gift, Leslie.
ReplyDeleteTake care that the flu bug's visit is a very short one :o)
so funny about the yarn store thing. sometimes i wonder who knows i have a blog and who doesn't. i also just totally busted a friend this weekend for being a lurker. it was a good laugh.
ReplyDeletethose little shoes are so cute! wish i had a little girl to sew/knit for. just found out that the newest baby to be (coming to my brother in july) is a boy. that is 7 nephews for me. sigh.
hope charlie is feeling better. and that the rest of you don't catch it too.
The cutest baby booties ever! I hope the cold will pass soon enough and everybody will feel better.
ReplyDeleteCheer up!
love those baby booties-I actually gasped when the photo loaded, then again when I saw that adorable baby.
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a LYS, which makes me sad. What is really strange is finding out how many people read my blog or ask me about things they read on my blog.
OMG..soooo soooo cute! good luck w/the sickies... I'm 2 for 3 this week.
ReplyDeleteso sweet. i hope you all stay well, and Charlie feels better really soon.
ReplyDeletethose are adorable! every preggo friend of mine is having a boy. EVERY one of them! go figure. hope your house gets better quick!!
ReplyDeleteI've had those booties in my Ravelry queue for a few weeks. Now to find a baby to make them for. . . Yours are adorable.
ReplyDeleteSo cool that you got to meet the ADD Knitter in person, Heather seems so smart and funny on her blog. I'll bet she's even better in person!
My lord that is a great picture of my boy! I love it you are such a wonderful photog. The booties are awesome maybe next time I will have a girl :-)

Aww... those are just so cute. I love the little button, too!
ReplyDeleteThe mary janes are too cute! And baby Jack is so gorgeous! What a cutie.
ReplyDeleteMy town is so small, I don't think many of us knitters here have blogs. But a few of us do and it is fun to keep up to date that way!
ohhhh leslie I LUV THESE so much. I have to have the pattern .... thanx for the link. your work is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI cant seem to go anywhere without thinking do they blog?? lol

Those booties are adorable!! Next time, let's sit and knit and chat awhile!!
ReplyDeleteCute cute booties! Keana's baby is even cuter!
ReplyDeleteI read about your encounter on Heather's blog first - that's so awesome that you all ran into eachother!
Adorable! I had to have the pattern so I just bought it. Thanks for the tip. How timely. I need to give a baby gift and was unsure of what to knit. Now I just have to settle on a color combo.
ReplyDeleteBaby Jack IS a cutie pie.
I love reading your blog!
*Lesli
Awwww! Does Jack have a date for the prom yet? NO? Okay, tell him I'm shopping for my dress already . . .
ReplyDeleteThe booties are the cutest!
Ack! Those are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThey are very cute!!
ReplyDeleteThe flu has hit our house too. No fun.
Jack is such a lovely baby.
ReplyDeleteLove the booties.
The cuteness of the Merry Janes is killing me! And that was such a funny little coincidence, wasn't it? The flu has hit here as well, hope Charlie is on the mend!
ReplyDeleteOh man! Those Merry Janes are to die for! I love 'em! MUST GET PATTERN.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun knitting group you have by you!
oh wow those are so cute. Love them!!
ReplyDeleteThe baby and the shoes are fighting for top spot in the cute department. Hard to choose a winner.
ReplyDeleteI hope your Charlie mends quickly. I hate containment procedures—so much work and clean-up. Stay healthy!
Ack, I hate that wondering about how far the flu will infiltrate...
ReplyDeleteI never thought about other people blogging at yarn shops because I never really had a LYS until now. Now, I have a few different locals that read my blog and I have to admit it seems odd because I never had crossed that "real life"/blogging line. It's fun, though. And my new area has a very active yarn group, so that's great, too!
I enjoyed visiting a new baby this weekend, too. So wonderful!
Cutie baby and those little shoes! I have met a blogger once, and someone once came up to me and recognized a sweater I had blogged about and she had read my blog! That felt really wierd!
ReplyDeleteCute shoes and super cute bub! I worked today and made a comment to the lady I was cutting fabric for that I was a craft blogger and the girl waiting beside her said "so am I". It turned out there were 4 of us in the shop!!
ReplyDeleteSuper-duper adorable.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is on the mend soon!
Those are darling - never seen anything like them. They'll be treasured, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteCute baby picture - wish Zack was still one of those. LOL He's a full toddler now!
Tanya
Those bootie/socks are adorable! I was thinking "gee I have that exact color" then I saw that you used natural as well & I had to look at the picture again to see where it was! lol
ReplyDeleteThe pic of the baby is beautiful -- I can see it on the Mom's wall for a long time... And it's fun to meet other bloggers, isn't it?!
Oh, beautiful! And what a gorgeous baby! You do take the BEST pictures, I swear.
ReplyDeleteThose Merry Janes are the cutest! But not quite as cute as the little babe. Did you even know that some of your fellow knitting bloggers were local gals? What a neat surprise to meet them at the store.
ReplyDeleteAw, cute baby and adorable shoes :)
ReplyDeleteThose booties are SO cute. Congrats to your friend! My husband is adopted. I have great respect for the journey.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun that you got to meet Keana and Jack! I wonder the same thing in yarn shops. I just trolled 2 of my LYS for the first time since we moved and had to keep from introducing myself as SpiderWoman!
My whole house was sick the entire vacation (except for me)and now just a day after my son seemed better he has an ear infection! I hope CHarlie feels better soon and that the rest of you stay well.
Those Mary Janes are gorgeous, I have a sudden urge to make them, even though I have no one to gift them too.
ReplyDeleteI really wish that those booties were okay to wear at my age. And that baby, he looks just like Keana, doesn't he!
ReplyDeleteThose are absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteI just started my first baby knitting which is a bib but when I find out what my friend is having I might have to knit some cute booties. :)
ReplyDeleteJust precious!!
Oh those booties are just absolutely adorable, and the baby is so gorgeous isnt he.
ReplyDeletethose are amazing! baby and booties!
