Love your winter white photos (winter is my favourite season on an aesthetic level.)

I bet that soup smelled wonderful! I love the smell of cooking onions.

i am so glad i am not the only one who loves winter! i just love cold, and snow, and short days, and christmas, and valentines day, and wearing warm clothes, etc. i just love it all! your photo of the stairs is so enchanting, and i am jealous of your dinner! yummy!

I can just imagine the taste of the melted cheese on the soup...with the wine...so delicious! Enjoy your weekend!

lovely! do your kids not like French Onion Soup? or does the wine not cook down enough to feel comfortable giving it to children maybe? As a child it was one thing I'd be most excited to see on a restaurant menu. I've never made it at home-- I'm definitely trying that recipe!

I love winter too. This year is especially beautiful where we are. In recent years, the winters in Western Montana have been gray and brown and long. But this winter has been white for weeks! Soooo beautiful. I contributed one photo to winter white week as well. Thanks for letting us know about it!

I am enjoying the non knitting related photography. Especially when they include food... yummmmmy! Take your time with the knitting photos. And sorry to hear about your car! Were you in town?

Oh my, I will have to try that French Onion soup! One of my favorites. I did try those Lemony Snicket cookes and they were fabulous - a huge hit with everyone who tried them!

I love those stairs! As an aside, if you're interested, I just learned this excellent tip to avoid crying while cutting onions; and since I'm helpful and housewifey that way, I'll share: wear swim goggles. It works great, and has the added benefit of making you look very sexy while doing your kitchen work!
