Nuh-uh! Yours are way more rustic and authentic. I think they are just adorable. And I give you an 'A' for effort on ball rolling. I would have lasted 30 seconds and then given up. I didn't even think of Sabrina's Boblicious Bag, but I'm sure that would have worked too. And you have an acorn dish! Too cute.

What about needle felting? I've never done it but those acorns look like the kinda thing you could make with it.

If those little pals were in my house I would have an uncontrollable urge to draw faces on them with a Sharpie!

The bobble bag's bobbles are knit (cast on one, knit 5, 6, or 7 stiches into that one (depending on desired size), then knit for 5, 6, or 7 rows, BO, then with tail and tapestry needle, run yarn through the edges, pull to pucker into a ball, and then into the washing machine they go).

I think you could probably do a little I-cord number and with a running stitch pucker it into a ball, hit the washing machine, etc...

The other thing I would do is needle felt them!

i have made those balls with warm soapy water and roving....they take WAY longer than 3 minutes! Your acorns are pretty dang cute, though. Love them!

Oh my gosh, these are darling! I HAVE to make some. DH was walking by and I showed him the picture; he didn't get it. Ah, men! They are awesome - thanks for the inspiration. Now when do I have time to make them...........

Those are so cute! I like the look of yours also. Plus, it is a nice, fun thing to do with the kids and I am sure they love it (even if only for two minutes)! My kids would have fun with that - if only I could find acorns around my house. We just have a bunch of pine needles.

My girls have put a bunch of acorn tops in a bowl, which are sweet in their own right.My youngest has wild ideas for them...maybe I'll steer her towards the felted or knitted acorns!

They are still lovely! I totally agree with buying the balls--I had grand ideas of making a tree garland last christmas. Umm, I think I made about 5 balls. There has got to be a better way to make them, but I don't know what it is.

If you ever want to make them again, try putting dish soap directly on the wool before dunking them. It makes the felting go much, much faster than just warm soapy water!
