I remember you posting about these sweaters before. And when I picked up VK 25th I totally thought of you when I saw the globe sweater!! At least you can pull it off. And I mean both the look and the sweater itself! ;-)
Still, it's a great testament to your mad knitting skills...

I had a similar experience in looking through that issue. I found that DKNY Tree sweater that I made twice(!). It was HUGE, but back then, big sweaters with narrow pants were very 'in.' I'm convinced if I keep it long enough, it may come back.

I freakin' LOVE those sweaters! They remind me of those Coca Cola rugby shirts that everyone wore (or at least everyone in College Station, Texas wore). Which reminds me of Swatch watches...I could go on and on.....

OK, those are pretty fugly lookin (no offense, of course) but it's saying something that you made it through the 80s as a knitter - that's a lot of intarsia!! You're probably a better knitter because of it!

I knit a sweater once with tons of teddy bears on it, one of these days I'll go through all my old photos and find a pic of it. Took me about 2 years and by the time I finished it,it was a bit small, I only wore it once to show it off!!!

I love these sweaters. How funny! Actually, there's a Map of the World Afghan that I really really wanted to make, but I suck at intarsia. I originally wanted to make it for my in-laws.
