it's official
Saturday, April 14, 2007Yes, it's official, I can now wear reading glasses. I have always liked the idea of reading glasses. I think people look very studious in them, and with so many cute ones out there, I wanted to wear them too. So, I did. Not really knowing if I needed them or not. However, while in Florida, I had an appointment with my mothers eye Doctor. I still have 20/20, however, he told me if it helps to wear them, go ahead. Wow, I was thrilled! If you could have seen me driving home with the BIG glasses they gave me to wear, trying to read my credit card to the Anthropologie operator! I was so excited to order these! My friend Betsy has them, and I loved them. I, of course, didn't want to buy them if I really didn't need them (since when has that stopped me), however, with Doctors orders, I new I had to order them.

the dashing look great in this color- your whole outfit with the glasses is so coordinated- cool!
ReplyDeleteI have to use reading glasses for the small prints in life and hate the practice and the idea! like when you are in a yarn shop trying to read the content , yardage, weight, the prices... or when you need to give your child medicine late at night but can't read the lable- I could go on.
I have to say- they do look very cool!!
I love your glasses and your mitts - very dignified in a funky way! :)
ReplyDeleteI wear contacts all the time, so no cute reading glasses for me:)
ReplyDeleteThe mitts look great--I love the yarn you used! I started these a couple days ago, and the cable pattern threw me off a bit. Your great pics will be a good guide!
As always, your knitting is beautiful. So are the glasses . . I'm addicted to Anthropologie! I also wear glasses to read and work on the computer. It's like my eyes go . ahhhhh . . everytime I put them on. I can read for a lot longer and I don't get headaches any more. I'm sure you'll find that you can't do without them.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sure you're gorgeous in your new specs too! ;)
brown and green glasses? really? i think i might need some, too. not really, but you get my drift!
ReplyDeleteYea! I sometimes wear reading glasses (very chic one's of course) when I knit with smaller needles, I am not sure if I really NEED them, but I do feel so much more business like! Great story, great glasses, great dashings!
ReplyDeleteP.S.that wool looks delicious! I am going right to their website!
I have the eye doctor next week - but I already have glasses, known in our house as a face accessorie! The brown dashing look great!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home!
Oh, this is just too funny. I almost bought those same readers, decided against it, and bought some online from Debspecs instead. I am sitting her trying to decide if it's better to see the stitches with the readers and a bit of a headache or just wing it. I don't think I like my 40's. I do, however, love your dashing mitts.
ReplyDeleteOh, one more thing, I might be getting in some equestrian inspired items, so, possibly you could 'borrow' an outfit of sorts.
ReplyDelete(I LOVE riding style too!)
I love glasses - and I love these! :) I love the Dashing mitts too. That brown is perfect. Looks great next to the aqua blue too :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dashing - love the chocolate brown.

Too funny. I wonder if you will love them as much in five years! You could have had mine. Of course without wee babes around yours might stay a tad cleaner. I love the brown and turquoise together.
ReplyDeleteI am also loving the chocolate dashing, my favourite pair yet!
Those glasses are too cute! How funny that you want to wear them! Great dashing!
ReplyDeleteLove the glasses! I've been wearing them for about 2 years now and it really has helped with intricate parts of my knitting. However, I bought the multipack at Costco because once I started using them I needed them all around the house I found. I do like your pair though...perhaps I should get them for my out in public wearing.
ReplyDeleteOHHHHH when I have to wear reading glasses I want a pair like that! Love the Dashing, I am starting another pair today!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, those glasses look nice. . . must go check out the Anthropologie link.
ReplyDeleteLove the mitts too. The color of the mitts with that scarf and jacket are perfect!
ooh--Love the turquoise on the insides of the frames! The mitts are fantastic and the trip to Florida looked perfect!
ReplyDeletedashing looks so good with the new specs! i bet you look even better than addison wearing your hip reading glasses!
ReplyDeletethey look super cute! I've been wearing contacts for as long as I can remember, but I always hope my prescription changes so I can get a new pair of glasses - they are so much fun! The Dashing look great - what a great color!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny!! I am totally with you on the reading glasses--my sister started wearing them a year or so ago and had like eight adorable pairs--they looked so good on her. I got a pair a month or so ago and now I am wearing them whenever I crochet and, honestly, more and more other times as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm going to consider using that pattern AND yarn, now. Love the Nature Wool color.
ReplyDeleteI have been wearing glasses since I was 13 and just celebrated the fact that I don't need reading glasses ... yet! Glad to hear cute ones are available. Love the mitts, the color is perfect.
